Sciatica describes symptoms related to irritation or compression of the sciatic nerve or its nerve roots. It is a symptom pattern rather than a single diagnosis. Pain often travels from the lower back or buttock down one leg, sometimes with tingling or numbness.
Disc problems and narrowing around nerves are possible causes, but not all leg pain is sciatica. An examination is important, especially when there is weakness. Your clinician may recommend medical assessment or other treatment depending on the findings.
Dr. Jon can review your spinal history and help determine whether One Life’s approach is appropriate or another evaluation is needed. Upper cervical care should not be assumed to directly resolve a lower-back nerve problem. Recommendations depend on your findings and may include referral.

This is not a complete list of warning signs. If you think you may be experiencing an emergency, call 911 rather than wait for an office appointment.
