Explore atlantoaxial instability (aai)Instability where the skull meets the spine.
Craniocervical instability describes excessive movement between the skull and the top of the spine. It can follow trauma or occur with connective tissue disorders, and it can cause a wide range of symptoms. Diagnosis requires specialized imaging and medical evaluation.
CCI is a serious medical condition managed by specialists. If you suspect or have been diagnosed with CCI, work with your medical team on imaging and management. Forceful neck manipulation is inappropriate with suspected instability.
One Life does not treat CCI. Dr. Jon can review your diagnosis and imaging and discuss honestly whether any gentle upper cervical care has a place alongside your medical care — and will say so when it does not.
